Aux. trans. cooler

I bought an aux. trans. cooler ( super cooler )for my 48re on my 05 and was talking to someone about it and he said not to use it because it would decrease the line pressure and possibly cause other problems. Can anybody confirm this?

I have been advised by several transmission builders that adding on to the factory transmission cooling system is asking for trouble. The return flow from the cooler is lube oil and adding any restrictions in the form of more tubing and coolers will cut the lube flow and starve parts of the transmission. Evidently the system is sized with very little over capacity to play with.

The stock trans cooling system is pretty robust, but, if extra cooling is wanted or needed a stand alone pump that draws from the pan and circulates thru the aux cooler is the recommended setup.
