Judging by some of the threads I have read, I got the impression that a few of our fellow members were experiencing some problems with banging noises in the tranny, hard shifts, not making the last shift. Perhaps I was hallucinating. I hate when that happens.

 

I was one of those posts that had shifting problems from 3rd to 4th. Turned out to not be the tranny but a bad contact in the wiring harness. Otherwise no problem and I've pulled my 5er around 6000 miles with this baby.

I am not really a fan of autos in any of my vehicles and had an 01 2500 HO/6sp. There are some situations that the 6sp was a pain in the %&^(^. This HO/48re combo has been great and has made a believer out of me. Th 4.10s really help this truck liven up!

 

the rear ends for all h.o.s are 11.5. strongest rear axle ive seen surely kills ford rear end...chevy uses the same 11.5 . with chevys power they just just use there old 10 bolt..... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( . get the auto w/ 4.10 lsd. forget about manual...
