Auto, hard to pull out of park.

Seems like it's getting worse or I'm getting weaker? It's intermittent, and sometimes I can't pull it out of park then after 3-4 tries it pulls right out easy as can be?

Could be the censor going to the brake. Can you hear the clicking when you step on the brake.

Parking brake? Yes. Regular brakes, no.

There is a censor on the regular brake pedal that dissengages the safety switch in the steering colum when depressed. I can hear mine engage when the key is in the start position and I press the brake pedal.

I'll check it...Is it an actuator where it might be out of alignment or maybe I'm not pushing hard enough on the pedal?

mine does it when i am parked on a slight decline which puts more stress on the parking pin/pawl. i should set my parking brake then put in park, hopefully relieving the pressure on the parking pin/pawl.

I dont think it would be something that could fall out of alignment. In regards to pressing the pedal far enough it only takes just a little bit to actuate the censor. The pin/pawl will get stuck once in a while parked on a hill without the parking brake

Work and home are both slight inclines, I'll try park brake then place in park, but both have been inclines as long as I've owned the truck.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Dodge has a fix

My 06 got really sticky and I knew there was a problem. Took it in and there was a TSB and they replaced a part inside the transmission. Works perfectly now.

I had the same issue with my 06, dealer ended up replacing the complete valve body assm because it had something to do with all being one piece now??? Cannot remember the exact details but it works sweet now.

Still waiting for a TSB #. My '06 has the same issue, but it's new to me(the truck, that is). The dealer service desk looked at me blank-like when I talcked to them.

Same problem

I have noticed the same problem on mine. I have taken it to the dealer they said, "it was fine." But that was a couple of years ago, anyway, what I do to alleviate the problem is to push up and forward when placing the shift lever in park. If I go to shift out and find it stuck, I just press up and fwd (without increasing the pressure on the brake pedal), and the lever is free again. Hope this helps, I definitely want to know that TSB#.

My neighbor who's a dodge cummins tech says that its usually a faulty valve body....well, a part in the valve body. But you have to replace the whole valve body to fix it....he said that only 1 time has it been the sensor for the brake pedal in the several instances he's came across it...

My truck has this random issue as well : ( I get very very very angry when it happens!
