ATF for fuel
ATF does not hurt a transmission pump so why would it hurt an injection pump. I am no expert on CP3's but I would have to have proof that it would hurt it or the injectors. I have wondered why no-one has tried used motor oil. I know of a generator that has ran 20% used motor oil with no problems. He runs his machine shop off the genererater. The man claims if he had enough used oil he would run a larger percentage but 20% is just what he can come up with.
With the tighter tolerances of the CP3 and injectors, the friction modifiers in the ATF will cause abnormally high wear that you won't like.
I've read about several people that do run some % motor oil in the fuel. But there are no friction modifiers in the motor oil. I think if it is filtered well, it shouldn't be a problem.

the tolerances in these motors is very different from the old 12v's of yester year. there are numerous diesel additives on the market specifically for diesels and there is no reason to run ATF. waste oil will do nothing more than clog up the filter and dirty the fuel system.
i know #2 is expensive but suck it up or else the repairs will be very very costly IMO

alright, well ill try to do some research on the acceptable limit of bio. im off to the gym for a few hrs so ill check back on this thread later and see if anyone else has any ideas. just dont use ATF...if anything its more expensive than diesel...even at 1.50 a quart, that 6 dollars a gallon. biggest thing you can do it run stock tires and keep it near 60

a tranny pump makes less than 300psi.
cp3 upwards of 26000 psi. tighter tolerances, requires much greater lubrication. you run atf, you will wipe the oil wedge off the barrels and be buying a new cp3, cause the dealer will see the red in the fuel, and off goes your warranty.

Lots of good info on fuel/additives/bio/jet fuel/gelling/etc. can be found there.
I'll second the motion on not running ATF as fuel.
