arp HEAD STUD SPECS

I wanted to see if anyone would know the length, thread, and grade on the ARP headstuds? I am trying to see where their big price comes from?

I'll have to go check the tap I bought to install my studs but I think they are M12 x 1.5... don't quote me though... let me check. Length has to be 7" or so. Grade must be over 8... not really sure if ARP rates their products that way though.

IMO, ARP makes the best fastners on the market. It's the only thing I use in my race engine. You pay extra for high quality, and then a little bit more for the name. But you really get what you pay for.

Failure of a properly installed ARP fastner is almost unheard of.

I have tons of contacts in the steel making industry and my Dad is a retired master machinist. We are trying to save some $$$$$$ on my truck head stud upgrades and match up to an even higher grade of studs. I am a disabled veteran and my income is REALLY skinny. Hopefully my wife will start working soon and become my sugar momma as well!!

If anyone can give the specs on the lengths/ thread I would be very grateful!

Resectfully,

Eric

I'm not trying to rain on the parade, but I feel ARP bolts are worth the money. I've been using ARP head studs for years (granted it was in small engine builds) but I've never had a failure. I feel that peace of mind is worth the extra few bucks. Sure you pay more, but having the block and head separate or having a bolt bust off in the block would be way worse.

Just my 2 cents.

you are going to spend more than the $425 you can get ARP studs for in materials and heat treating them.
