Has any on ever used these on a reg basis for 3rd gens?. I have the chance to buy some at a pretty decent price, but wouldn't want to jeopardize my engine over saving 5-6.00 a piece over stratapores... your opinions please.....

a friend of mine had one on a 350 sbc there is a nut soldered onto it for some reason? anyways this nut came off and he lost all his oil, don't know if they are still made like this. however K&N did buy him a new engine. this was in 2005.

Yes I run K&N on all my trucks, 1999 with 250k! They work great on the old auto's just crack it loose from underneath with 1" socket.

Well That nut is supposed to be a BENEFIT !!! If it doesn't come off it would sure be handy to take filter on and off with. I sure would think these filters would be at least as good as OE stock dodge filters..... FWIW
