Anyone use a Curt drop hitch or ever see one?

Looking at the 10,000/12,000 and the 12,000/14,000 hitches from Curt... Actually I shouldn't say that, I haven't seen one yet. That's why I'm starting this thread.

How bulky do these things look? I'd like to stay close to stock look without a lot of crud hanging down.

Anyway, the weights I'm refering to above are the regular/load leveling hitch weights, with 10% being tounge weight allowed.

Thanks, and the 10,000/12,000 is $239 installed at a local dealer.

I have the Putnum XDR. The only thing you can see is the 2" sq. below the bumper the cross bar is up behind the bumper. It has a 15,000 WC / 16,000 WD. The install was easy no longer than 1/2 hr. Got mine for about $150

Not sure if they have it for 07 yet.

I also have the Putnam XDR but the price for the newer ones is higher at about $250 (at least when I bought mine). Still all you can see is the receiver hole hanging below the bumper. Easy install.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm going to order it in the morning. It is $239 installed part #14361 and is rated for 10K/12K. I'd consider the 12K/14K but you can tell it is going to hang down below the bumper a lot and I don't need that kind of umph in a 3/4 ton.... And if I ever do I'll just upgrade.

I see my need for a gooseneck soon and I'm going to start looking at trailers/setups soon.

Ah, hold on. After reading this again you guys are suggesting the Putnam XDR.

Think this is the way to go then eh?

I'll see if I can find a dealer.
