Anyone else?

Hey yall, I've been quiet for a while, moving and all. I just put four new Cooper Dicoverers on the back of my '05, and well........ There is just something not right, the rear trails when steering really bad, I am guessing due to too soft of rubber, but?? Anyone else experience this? Also, what is a good tire for this app. without breaking the bank? Thanks in advance yall

Cant go wrong with a Michelin. They can be more expensive than others. But, IMHO, its one of those get what ya pay for kinda things. My truck came with BFG all terrains.. I'm watching them closely to see when they start wearing, but the wife only has 6,000 miles on it so far. As for handling, this truck handles just as well as the '04 with Michelin street tires that we got rid of.
I drive a 4500 Chevy work truck with 19.5" wheels, and we tried Goodyears cause they were about $20 cheaper per tire, problem was, they didnt last long enough for the water to get hot. Went to Bridgestones, better than the GY's, but still had short service life. Went to Michelins and we get about 45,000 miles on them carrying about 19,000 lbs. and traveling on some of the worst lease roads you could possibly imagine.

Check the load range on the side of the tires. You should have load range "E" tires in a stock configuration. Some guy's run load range "D" in a larger tire but the tire has a higher weight rating. The ammount of air you have could also be a factor.

I had a set do that one time. After a couple days of driving they were OK. I am not sure what caused it though.
