anyone ??????

hello, I have asked this question before with no answers but no i have another code so ill ask again i have a P0516 battery temp sensor low and a P0111 i forgot what that one was something about charge system. My MIL light is on my amp gauge will go crazy from time to time drop all the way to discharge then slowly climb back up to half then drop to nothin an so on it only does this when its kinda warm out like today it was 38 first thing turned the key waited for the light to go out an the amp gauge drops check gauges light comes on MIL light comes on. Its been in the shop for this before it has a new battery temp sensor an it has been programmed out of the ecm but it still keeps comming back from time time when i first turn the key on. Does anyone know what to check or replace? i am at a loss
thanks for anyone who can help dennis

No idea other then maybe you have a bad battery that is screwing with stuff. sometime the plates get loose inside and touch. might check them out. Those are the types of things i fear going wrong. bearing ,joints, brakes, balljoints are pretty easy to see there broke and replace. Electronics can drive you crazy.

I get the PO516 Code periodically, it never throws a MIL light but I believe its caused by using the grid heater. IIRC its nothing to worry about. As far as the PO111 code, I can't help ya there. Hope this helps a little?

Kind of sounds like a wiring issue for the temp sensor-its kind of hard to get to under the driver batt & could have been overlooked.Very likely prob if you've had a batt acid leak

I usually get the 0071 (air temp rationality) and the 0514 (battery temp rationality) in the spring and fall. Your 0111 is the inlet temp rationality, here is the Dr Wiki link. http://wiki.dieseltruckresource.com/wiki/Computer_codes I get my codes when the temperatures drop overnight and in the morning open the door and start it up. Somehow the computer sees a rapid drop in temperature and alarms. It goes away for me in a few days. I did get a Actron OBD II Auto Scanner and can clear the code if I want. It was around $100 at a Autozone. A few times I've had to hit the highway and hate to look at the CEL. Is your truck in some sort of heated garage or at least warmer than outside? It might just be the same as my truck which is normal, IMO.
