Anybody else have a fuel contamination problem?
I dug this old thread up. Dodge is giving me the shaft. The rollover valve vent hose recall allowed crud in the tank and they blame me for being 3000 miles overdue for a filter change. Truck has 33,000 miles on it.

I have 31,000 miles on my 06 and no problems to date. As said in the old thread, if the fuel filtering system is working properly, how can the failures be attributed to contaminated fuel? Contaminated with what? Have you asked the dealer that question?
I agree with ssandlin. Find yourself a good lawyer and fight it. You are still in the warranty period and your have a know TSB failure on your truck. The filters are not the problem. The problems that you have can be related to Dodge's Defective Manufacturing and installation of fuel tank with missing parts or defective parts. The only way contaminates could enter your fuel system is through your fuel neck or the rollover valves. I am leaning towards the valves since there is a TSB out for them.

Same story
My 2005 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Long Bed has 38,000 miles on the odometer and just quit running. Towed it into the dealership and was told the same story...contaminated fuel or fungus in the fuel and the whole system needs to go at a cost of $6049 plus tax.
I changed my filter 8,000 miles ago.

I have seen a lot of problems with fuel systems first hand in relation to the "fungus" found in tanks and filters. I cannot see how the fungus is entering the fuel system after the filter if the filter is doing it's job? If your truck is going from cool temps to warm temps on a regular basis you will see fungus issues (heated garage to cool outside and vice versa) Generally it should plug the filter and cause the engine to lack power similiar to a powerstroke
or will shut down completely and not re-start. I would seriously contend your dealer or consult with a independent diesel shop with no affiliation to DC.-Frog

I had a bad fill about 2 years ago. The truck was still under warranty. It ran like crap, and smoked and had no power. I went to the dealership in Ottawa and the drained the tank, put new fuel in and ran some sort of cleaner through the whole system. Ran great ever since. The dealership didn't charge me a paenny for the service or the fuel. I guess it all depends on the dealership. just my 2 cents worth.
