any tricks to replace tail pipe?

My tail pipe got crushed on a 2004 dodge 2500 diesel. 4x4.

I couldn't get the pipe out...I unloosened the clamp and it seems like the clamp dented the metal holding the old one in place. The pipe won't slide out of the other pipe.

are there tricks to doing this? sliding a chisel or something up between the two pipes?

HELP!!!!

use a die grinder and make a slit in the pipe to relieve pressure. Cut it just far enough to get past where the clamp was, then work it back and forth a little then it should slide right off. If your not trying to save it, sawzall or plasma cutter are also two of my favorite tools of choice!

post your location, and maybe someone can come by and help.

prolly lots of folks got spare OEM pipes laying around.

the slits are only way, the OEM clamps crimp the pipes together.

so a search for "straight" and straight pipe it...
