See if they will let you take an extended test drive for a couple of days so you can do some real driving. I believe most of the common problems will have occured by now and been corrected. Check the feel of the clutch for sure........

U-JOINTS
All of them! I have had all three in the ds replaced, and now I have one in the front squeaking...
check for a shudder in the rear on take off.
My truck was near perfect until I hit 50k From 50-65k it has been miserable, not quite as happy as I was for the first year

I'd be happy if they were $20. try $130, and it's still a dealer only item(I'm not grinding the yoke)
I'm not happy because I have a shudder on take off while letting clutch out and then again once it's out and start to apply the skinny. And a vibe at highway speed if you put it in N. 3 joints gone and another on the way. foam in driver seat split. harmonic balancer was replaced. a whining noise from the power steering pump when you coast in gear(I think this is because at 2900 miles the ps hose ruptured and I had to drive home with no power steering or brakes) can't stand to run the A/C at anything above 50mph because it's so freaking loud.

I don't tow alot or heavy, haven't gone over 7000# yet. So there really is no excuse for this. When they go, you don't have much warning. I don't want to be stranded, or under the truck along the highway(esp. not around here) replacing a u-joint. I'll be happy when the aftermarket catches up and make a greasable joint.

If the 600s weren't getting such crappy mileage I'd be trading it in.

going on 72,000 miles and only problem so far has been a injector pump, i suspect the reason it went bad was that i run the ez box on 4 while pulling heavy loads 13,000-14,000 lbs, 90 % of these miles is pulling while loaded. also still on factory tires. no complaints here.
