Wetspirit,
Goggleyed called it "garbage" not "junk".

My problem was that the right side of the truck was the downhill side that had most of the weight on it, and the left side tires were free spinning on the snow. I tried everything, for about 2 hours, except read the manual about using the brakes to engage the "anti-spin". Took an 02 tahoe to get me out of the ditch.
Now that I understand how it works, I have a better chance of getting out of a sticky situation that I hope never happens again.

today the truck was wierd again. I had just raced a friend in a silverado 4.8L and trashed him. we got to a stop sign and while i was waiting for cars to drive by so i could continue on straight, i started powerbraking it. i held it for a good 20 seconds and he was watching me in awe. As soon as i let off the brake i went full throttle and for about 50' i had a 2 wheel burnout, then for another 100' i had a one wheel burnout. It was cool at least

S.T.CTD:
Does the Edge EZ allow the power brake start? At what setting?
The stock programming won't allow it I don't think. I tried and nothing happened except it started slower than if I had released the brake then hit the throttle.

I have noticed that you can't even do a neutral to drive drop. It won't shift until the throttle is released and the RPM's drop back down below 1000. Good thing!

It would be nice to see the A.S. hook and leave two long streaks, but no luck yet.

You got snow down there? Hitting us pretty hard today.

Well i never tried to power brake stock. i just wanted to show off today so i did that. i had the edge on level 3, 65hp/150tq setting. it powerbraked without a problem at around 2000 RPM.

Yeah there is snow here. it snowed all night last night and gave us about 8", now its snowing again expected to be a foot overnight. its supposed to snow all day tomorrow and dump another 6"

if you are ever down here, ill let you test drive the truck with the edge box. Its a night and day difference. I raced my friends silverado 4.8L RCSB stock for stock and i beat him by about 6 truck lengths to 80. With the edge i took him by about 12 truck lengths to 75 today.

I may take you up on the offer. All I need is some motivation to buy one. Motivation sparked by a test drive.
South Fork is a little far from Parker, but who knows, I just might make it down.
nice shack in you gallery by the way...

these anti spin rears are a joke. does dodge or aam think that when your doing lets say, 10-35 mph snow plowing or going threw a sand pit just about to get stuck as it is, i'm going to start using my e-brake or use my regular brakes. that's the most stupid thing I ever heard of. the whole world is used to limited slips and now this!! the aam 14 bolt that's in the GM rear works great with no problem. what's up with our's??? now, if my wife is driving my truck and something comes up, do you think that I could explain to her what to do and it would work??
no! She would make 2 phone calls. the tow truck and a ride home........

In my case I called my wife to tow me out of the ditch. How humiliating!

I don't know why you guys think they are a joke...maybe your tire choice is the problem. This has been my most unstruck truck that I have ever owned...including a short bed regular cab F250 with a locker in the rear and 35" tires.

If the tires are in motion they will both hook up, the only problem is from a dead stop.

And that is what the E brake or Brake pedal is for...I don't really see the hassel. This set up is much easier on the inside rear tire while making sharp turns on pavement.

Originally I didn't think it was a joke, I believed what you said, but as this thread continues, it gets funnier.

If you never loose motion, it is pretty hard to get stuck. If you stop and get stuck, the "Anti-Slip" is a problem. Yea this comment is pretty funny.

Oh, and my choice of tires is the stock BFG's because that is what the truck came with. By your accounts, maybe Dodge's choice in tires is a joke, because they equiped the vehicle with the tires and differential that doesn't work with them.

Did dodge intend for you do do the type of driving that requires more traction than this truck comes with stock? I didn't think so, so I solved the problem myself.
Look at my pics...

So what you are saying is that in order to get enough resistance to get the anti-slip to work, you need better tires? If what you are saying is that you need better tires to get out if a sticky situation, I would agree 100%, but what I understood you to say is that your choice of tires is what it takes to get the AS to work better because of the mechanics of the Anti-slip. Technically it shouldn't matter the tires that are on the vehicle to get any limited slip to work properly, but in your case Mudders with this particular limited slip system, tire choice will cause enough resistance without braking to cause Anti-Slip to engage.
What I am saying is that the stock tires don't create enough grip or resistance on off-highway conditions to get the Anti-slip to engage.

Cool?
