Another Jake brake question
Another Jake brake question
This is my first exhaust brake, and I didn't know what to expect. Questions for the gurus:
Should it make a loud air pssssssssssssst when it engages?
Does it put the transmission in a shift and lockup pattern similar to tow/haul? I noticed 4th gear lockup at 47 MPH, and the trans holds lockup longer and at lower speeds.

Thanks for the reply.
And I assume the braking effect increases on declines and with lower gearing, due to more force being applied on the pistons from gravity, momentum, and leverage? I was surprised at first when, on flats, it feels just like letting your foot off the throttle of a gasser.
