Another fuel MPG question

I am currently getting around 12.5 mpg. At these prices I need to do something to increase it. I had a 2001 that got 18 mpg no matter what I did or how I drove. What can I do to increase mpg? I keep up on my oil changes, fuel filter and air filter, what else is there I should be doing and would a chip help? Thanks

You may not be doing too bad. I get 15 in mixed driving around town. If you have more "stop and go" it could account for your slightly lower MPG or maybe your foot is heavier than mine. If I keep it at 60 on interstate I can get 22-24.

Just a thought.
