I've heard of a lot of people doing the Allison 5 speed and six speed swap. Destroked has an adapter. My question is will my transfer case mount up?

 

These trannies are electrically controlled too... it is a lot more than swapping the hardware.

Suncoast was the pioneer in that area... you may want to give them a call. I looked into this some years ago and decided it wasn't worth it... but that is just me.

IMHO... for the cost and problems involved, you are better just putting that $$ into your 48re.

 

Yeah I saw a couple of kits out there that came with everything. Probably end up sticking with the 48re. Just wanted that 6 speed.

 

I'd rather wait for maybe a Asian 6 speed conversion...
