Air in cooling sys

Replaced rad hoses filled sys back up pulled heater hose at head had coolant coming out of pipe and hose started trk waited for burp at filler neck finished filling rad and topped off resivoir. Cold water level in bottle at full after driving two inches above full trk used to run 186-188 now it runs 190 -192 till thermostat opens. Not a big difference but I'm getting ready for big trip with camper. Will normal driving purge any air left in sys.

The best way to purge the air is, on a cold engine start the truck, turn the heater on and set the temperature control to max heat. after about 1 minute of running shut the truck off. Slowly open the radiator cap. On the passenger side of the head, toward the firewall you will see a metal tube with a heater hose attached. Remove that hose. Now fill you radiator and watch the metal tube. As you fill the radiator the air will be bled out through that tube. It will surge a little so go slow. Once you have all the air out at the tube, replace the hose, tighten the clamp and replace the radiator cap. This article I did has the pics to make it simple. Good luck!

I did, but obviously I took something else from it. Based on my experience the level in my overflow tank dropped about 2" after a couple days. I added the required coolant and all has been fine.
