Aftermarket aluminum rims with factory center cap

Aftermarket aluminum rims with factory center cap
I have seen quite a few trucks with aftermarket aluminum wheels and they use the factory center cover to cover the lug nuts and hub. Does anyone know how they get them to sit flat on the rim. Mine sit of the rim by 3/8".
