If I'm not mistaken its the alt.pully.No matter which pully it would not be covered under the factory engine warranty.(maybe the water pump pully)If its under a extended coverage cool.I was curious to the 280? That was mentioned. Lots of these vehicles that had the belt come off early on and just the belt or the tensioner replaced need to have the TSB done which D.C. should(I said SHOULD)take care of. Now if the service contract is a D.C.contract its good at any D.C.dealer.If someone elses policy who knows.

I have the all inclusive, zero deductable chrysler warratny. The last couple of times i used it i didn't pay a dime and was given a rental truck (got a taurus this time). They just told me the pully was warrantied, but i will ask if it was the TSB for the alt pulley, that would make more sense of why i am being charged so much ( i think).

When i first bought my truck and it had about 2000 miles on it the belt did the same thing, only they had to replace the tensioner, didn't cost me a dime. i am a little upset since i had it towed out to jarretsville where i thought i would get some better treatment.

I left on a 1200 round trip after making the original post. I'm not to thrilled to see two other threads on the same issue within a week.
