ABS trouble

I have researched and read everything I can find on the ABS and brake light staying on and loss of speedometer and cruise. I have tried almost everything that has been posted but no one has posted having the ABS run (the pump under the hood) all the time even when the key is turned off. I finally pulled the fuse on the pump so it would not run the batt down. I have run the codes using the bullydog, a hand held scanner and switching the key off and on 3 times. All three indicate no codes. I killed the power to the truck for almost an hour and that did not reset anything. I hate to have to go to a dealer to be scanned but I am almost to that point. I did replace the speed sensor on the rear end although it had the same omn reading as the new one.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

update

I plugged the wiring harnesses back into the abs and pulled the 40 amp fuse labeled abs pump. This allowed me to get back the speedo and cruise and leave the pump shut down. I still have the lights on the dash but I will live with that.

abs

Let me tell you how I fixed my abs when the light came on with the brake light. Speedometer still worked though. I pulled the wire harness from the abs unit. My truck is a 06 and the abs unit is right at the fender and the hood part. I think water may be getting in connector. I found that i had some corrosion at the pins cleaned them as good as I could plugged and unplugged several times hooked it back up and have not had a problem for about a year. used a little grease on the seal too. Hope this might help Ron

Thanks for your response. I first started out unplugging both harnesses at the unit just to make it stop running so as to not kill the battery. The connections are clean and in the process of trying all the different things each time I would plug and unplug so I must have done it about 20 times. What puzzles me is why it still runs even with the switch off. So far I have not found anyone that has hade that problem.

When light is on you have standard brakes ABS is disabled. Sounds like ABM module mounted to the HCU.

Fixed mine. The fuses 30 & 31 are mislabeled. In my haste of checking fuses I put the 30 fuse into the 31 spot. Switched them back to 30 & 31 spare ( no fuse) and everything works again. It's easy to do if in a hurry.
