I own a 96 2500 and love it diesels rule! But I might upgrade but i want to learn more. I can get my hands on an 05 but it was a roll over ,no major damage it runs but snap the throttle and it idlesdown funny compared to my 96' is this normal?

Take the engine out of the 95 and put it in the 05...that's better. 3rd gen with a 2nd gen 12v twist...

Both are great. I'm looking into getting a 2nd gen also as soon as I sell a few other toys. As far as the return to idle on the 05 could you explain what you hear that concerns you?

the engine when revd is fine but during idling down it is not smooth like the 12v it stumbles when you release the throttle and is delayed to idle down it is almost like a wastegate malfunction it idles fine and hold rev fine at any rpm I have never sat behind a 24v electronic inj before so maybe it is just me. I told the seller about it and he had a service tech from dodge say it was fine but i don't think it did it for them
