22.7 mpg......not bad......not unheard of. I get over 800 per tank......I hold 40 gal. w/the vent kit.

Pro, I would say that is above average from my experience. My best tank was 701, and best mpg was 21.1. Congrats.

You can do a search on it, but it basically moves the tank vent to the highest point in the tank (where it should have been in the first place) to allow filling the tank to the top without stopping to allow the tank to "burp" the trapped air out.

That tank mod uses the safety expansion area of the tank to hold more fuel. If you live in a warm place and fill your tank to top of the filler neck after doing that mod you could loose some fuel on the ground from expansion. FYI...

I live in a hot place (100+) in the summer. I have never lost any fuel. I can put 40 + gallons in when empty.

Just as an FYI, based on the thermal expansion of diesel, you'll gain .625 gallons of volume in 40 gallons of fuel over a 60 degree change in temperature (usually not likely if you're anywhere on earth), not much at all, nothing like gasoline, that's why there really shouldn't be an expansion area as large as there is in a diesel tank.
