727 deep pan on a 48re?

Just was wondering if the pan configuration is the same. An aluminum deep pan for the 48re is around $200.00, however Summit has their pan, with 2 quart extra capacity on sale for $99. A great deal if it would work. Thanks

It will bolt up, but 2 qts extra on a 727 is stock capacity for the OD trans.

yes copy that. I was told when I baught my double deep pan that it is just a 727 pan that will hold 4 quarts extra. Which means 2 quarts extra for a 47/48re.

Thanks, that was just the information I was looking for. I think I will just go ahead and get the PML pan.

2 quarts extra? I was told that the Mag Hytec DD pan holds 4 quarts also over the stock 48RE tranny pan. So now I add 9 quarts of Tranny fluid instead of 5.

It is nice also to be able to drain the fluid from the pan before removing the pan to access the tranny filter.

Do you have a part no.? I checked Summit's website and the cheapest I could find was one for $136.00.

Just a quick question. Is 5 quarts the stock capacity for the 48re? I just baught the Mag-hy-tec deep pan and wanted to know how much fluid to go buy. 9 quarts is for the double deep pan. So 7 for the deep? am I right?
