6speed problem I think???

O.K. just got back from 800+ miles with the 5th wheel. Around 8500 lb. After a fuel stop on the way out I am getting back on the interstate and felt this jerking just after changing gears. Truck surges jerks about 6 times I get off of it and then back on all is normal. No other problems untill backing into the driveway this evening. Driveway is a slight incline and I do mean slight around 1-1.5 % . Truck does same thing as before, I push clutch in and try it again, does same thing. I tried with zero throttle and several other ranges of throttle. It felt like the back tires were spinning then grabbing then spinning then grabbing very quickly. RPM's stayed steady there are no mods to the truck and only 19000 on the clock. I am leaving on Thur. to go to Summerville Lake on WV for a little kayaking and rock climbing.
The trailer will be heavier and I will have 3 more people in the truck. I know there are several steep grades to pull on the way there and back I am a little concerned. . Oh yeah I have driven 5 and now 6 speeds all my life never had a problem so I would like to think it is not my driving.

Do you have anti - spin rear end ? Was it raining ? Mine will jerk a little when a wheel looses traction when turning in wet grass . Just a thought .

Check to see if you are throwing any codes. Turn the key on and off three times without cranking the engine. Your odometer will display any codes.

No codes, but it was wet when I was backing. I do have the anti-spin rea but I was not spinning a tire. Drove the truck today and did not notice any problems. Crawled under it and the drive shaft does not have any unusual play in it and there are no leaks.

Hooking the trailer up in the morning and heading to W.V. will be back on Monday. I am just going to assume that there is nothing going on that won't let us make it there and back. If you see a Maroone truck pulling a Laredo 5th wheel say HI especiallly if I am on the side of the road .
