Question 600 getting fixed

My truck has been in the dealership for 17 days now. So far they
have found #1 injector loose in the head. #2 and #3 injectors
are bad. They are also replacing a fuel control module. This truck
was built the first week in Jan. Engine was built Dec. 21.

04.5 SLT QC 4x4 6spd I thought it was graphite, but I now
think of it as more of a ghostly grey that i can't see.

What kind of symptoms were you experiencing that led you to take your truck in for service (i.e. poor performance, noises, mileage, etc)?? Just curious since my build dates are very close to yours...

That must be one of those 600's that everyone has been talking about It doesn't get good mileage or have power It must have been built on a Holiday

Sorry to hear about the problems Patrick. Any idea why it's taking them so long to fix it? Are they waiting on parts? Hopefully, you'll get it back soon and running right.

The reasons I took the truck in were 1] Smoke at start up. 2] Miss at higher RPM
3] Puff of smoke between high RPM upshifts. Problem #1 is easy, its the injectors
leaking when the truck is parked. I feel problems #2 and #3 are bad injectors.
I have had the reflash done earlier. The delay in repairs is Chrysler has the
dealer check out different systems on the engine, then fax the findings in, then
Chrysler has them check other things. The injectors are slow to come out of
Chrysler, I think the demand for replacements is high. I now have a Cummins
rep. that I know checking into the parts problem.

Kind of like what SuperGewl said, I find it ironic that most of the trucks experiencing problems were built the first week of Jan... when most people are still recovering from their New Years Hangovers!!
Hopefully next year DC will cancel their Christmas/New Years parties!

Seriously though, I hope they have your truck fixed soon... they ought to give you a nice set of polished injectors for your troubles!
