I keep mine upside down.....keeps the wife from driving my truck! -LOL
That didn't work for me, she's better with a manual than I am.

DHM,
Your sig doesn't say what you have hooked up to that shifter........ Even if you don't have anything, it gives me ideas! Where did you aquire yours and how did you get it on there?

The factory plastic **** really unscrews from the stick?

Nascarcamper,
Could you put up a pic of your SRT-10 stick? I want mine 6 - 8" closer to me and shorter wouldn't hurt any either. That may just be the trick.

millco;

I currently don't have anything hooked up to the shifter ****. I do have some ideas, but will have to wait for them to happen.

The **** originally belonged to my brother. I am not sure where he got it from, but his first truck used that type of shifter. It is from a 13 speed Roadranger transmission. Years ago, he plugged it and tapped it to fit the shift stick on his PU. When he sold that thing, he pulled it back out and later said I could have it, if I wanted it. It has been laying around the garage for the past 25 years or so, but I kinda knew where it was all the time. When I got my current truck, I decided it was time to put that thing to good use.

The shift **** can be removed by removing the disc in the center of the **** and using a 13mm (if I remember correctly) deep socket to remove the nut inside the ****. I took that nut to a hardware store to get the size and pitch, which is 10mm X 1.5. I just bought the tap, and since the plug had been tapped before, it was a simple matter to retap the plug.

I then ran the nut I removed onto the shift stick, all the way down, threaded the shifter **** down to where it looked good, and then used the nut as a jam nut to hold the shift **** in place.

Sometime soon, I am hoping to put airbags on my truck, with the built-in air pump and air tank. Then, I would be able to tap into the air tank to run to the shift ****. I need to find an air-powered electrical switch to connect to my Jake brake switch and then I can use one of the positions on the selector to operate my Jake brake. Some day, soon, I hope.
