6 spd Manual Trans Fluld

Been doing some research and found something interesting:

Is Pennzoil Syncromesh the same exact lubricant as Quakerstate Syncromesh? And both of these meet the Dodge 6spd part number?

Pennzoil Website: http://www.pzlqs.com/Tech/Pdsheet/Do...omeshFluid.PDF

QS website: http://www.pzlqs.com/Tech/Pdsheet/Qu...omeshFluid.PDF

Hm, and I've been using redline mtl?

Yes, they are the same. Pennzoil owns Quakerstate.

I used Pennzoil for the first change. I have five quarts of Redline sitting in the garage for the next change.

I use Redline MTL in mine, and I keep lots of it in stock just for this reason. Shifts are *much* better, especially when the fluid is cold.

I'm running Pennzoil Synchromesh at the moment but planning to use MTL at the next fluid change.

I put a trans filter kit from GEno's in, and refilled with Redline MTL for manual trannies. The shifts are MUCH better. Before the redline i had a hard time upshifting into 5th, not so now.

Yeah, I just ordered MTL for the trans and Redline regular synthetic 75w-90 Gear oil for frt & rear end.

SS, I could not figure out your website for pricing info. I found the website very confusing and frustrating. As a potential customer, I really shouldn't have to send an email for pricing information? Of course, it could've just been me loosing some more salt out of my brain

Penz Sycro is what comes from the factory in the 6 speed. Pectin owns Penz and Quaker.

rossn2,

Don't forget C+ for the transfer case. It's +4 rated, I use it in mine and it makes shifting in and out of 4 wd nice and smooth.

JerryR,
Yeah, I changed out the transfer case around 7500k with Amsoil ATF...no problems. Really don't think I need to change it out again yet.

I'm sorry about that. I'd have been more than happy to quote you personally since you had trouble. I'm a big believer in having a relationship with customers beyond a website. And truth be told, we are a small business with 5 incoming toll-free number and only 3 people working. I honestly can't keep up with the website.

I understand, but in the future, please feel completely free to contact me directly if you have *any* questions. That's a big part of the job IMHO.
