Hello folks! It has been a few years since I have actively been on the forum. Now, I need to turn to more knowledgeable people than I for tech support.
For the past few years, 4Lo would flash on the dash while traveling down the highway. At lower speed 4wd would engage by itself. With the key off, the TC motor would cycle every now and again. This was intermittent and I would be able to get it back into 2wd.
A few months ago, the issue became more consistent. I changed out the transfer case shift motor and the frequency diminished.
Over the past few days, frequency has increased greatly. Two days ago, the TC shift motor went into a cycling fit shortly after shutting the truck down, key removed and doors closed. Yesterday, when leaving to the farm, 4wd engaged by itself at slower speeds in the city. Once on the highway, I got it disengaged, and it was fine for just over an hour. Turned the corner to head off the highway, and 4wd engaged itself again. Now it is locked in 4wd. Engage the dash switch and it stays the same. Turn the switch to 2wd, and 4wd flashes for 10 seconds until steady illumination again.
My searches have turned up a ton of info on front axle actuators, but I do not have one of those. Then, there was a snippet on chaffing wires or AC transducer sensor, but not a ton of info.
If anyone has some insight, I am all ears.
Thank you!
