48RE will be used in SRT-10
Read this in Truck Trend last night. This truck has like 500+ HP and I beleive 500+ tq.
Dodge must feel pretty good about this trans. It seems to be holding up pretty good with the Cummins behind it that a lil v10 wont be a problem either!!

Just remember that the torque is what breaks things. The v10 makes torque longer that the mighty cummins but its barely over 500lbs. The Rumble Bee 5.7 hemi with the supercharger makes 517hp and they use the same trans 57RFE (or whatever the model # is) That is behind the 345HP hemi.
Well, my pore ole 1996 Ram 3500 V-10 (300 BHP/450 lb-ft torque) pulled 5th wheels for over 5 years with a 47RE. The V-10's and Cummins engines have traditionally used the same transmission (i.e., 47RH, 47RE, NV4500) in Ram applications, so I can see why DC would go to the 48RE for an automatic version of the SRT-10 Ram.

SRT-10 Dana 60?
I looked at a SRT-10 Ram and alooks like the rear axle is a Dana 60. Does anyone know if this correct, and if so, why can't we order the CTD with a Dana instead of the whining AAM?
