48RE transmission problem

I have an 03 with about 95K on it and I have this strange problem when the truck sits all day and it is level ground, when I get in and start it and shift to reverse or drive, I dont get a response and it acts like it is slipping. It is like the torque convertor has drained. The dealer suggested there is a check valve in there somewhere. Parts guy was no help. Does anyone have any ideas???

My Durango did the same thing... It was the converter draining and a known problem.. I would just start it and let it run in neutral for a few seconds before I put it in gear...

if I remember correctly, the drivetrain on an 03 is only covered up to 70k. Engine is 100k.

I dont think the torque converter is the problem. I am trying to find a check valve listed in the shop manual and cant find any that would cause leakage like that. I am out of warranty by the way.
