48RE Tranny running HOT?

I am about to order a 2007 3500, 4X4, DRW, AUTO and just followed a gent in the exact same truck. Stoped and asked him how he liked it and he said great except the auto heated up driving around town, OK on the road but got too hot around town.
Anyone else have that problem? If so, is it an easy fix?
Thanks

Same here tow a #6300 boat in the summer. Crowded 190* in Lake of the Ozarks 95*+ in stop & go hilly traffic. Used O/D lockout & slowed down some, the temperature went back to normal in town. Normally Hwy 100-140*

Does the '07 have a gauge? How does he know it's running hot? It makes sense the transmission would run hotter around town. Once in fourth gear the torque converter should be locked up and not producing heat. Of course loaded up heavy on the highway and radiator heat will increase transmission fluid temp some.

Yeah, unless the guy added a tranny temp guage, or Dodge added one in '07 (I don't think they did) he's looking at the water temp guage.
