48re and sled pull

48re and sled pull

as of now i have a stock powered truck just 4 inch ole in air box and a muffler delete. how would my trans howl up to one sled pull with 50,000 miles on it provided i dont boost launch just take off easy . any ideas

i have a friend that has a smarty tnt with mp8 and has tons of pulls on his stock trans. but according to everything on here they wont hold up to anything. so im in a big toss up

Stock power shouldn't cause much problem but when torque is at max and the sled resistance is at max (the last few feet) the max stress is applied. Take your run and give up the last foot or so to save the worst stresses.

Obviously, not pulling a sled is the better answer but a bit of fun is a bit of fun. I just wouldn't keep crushing it when the sled has you beat.

I wouldn't suggest it. I did my first sled pull with my Smarty on 9 and MP8 on 100 percent. (around 500hp) It did fine.

But my transmission builder already had my DTT parts on order and I was taking it to him the next month. I felt more confident knowing even if it broke something, the trans guy was there at the event and his shop was close by.

But, it didn't break anything. I was lucky.
