48re part# help plz
anybody know the part# for the rear oil seal of the tranny. i got leak between the transfer case and the tranny and the tranny is low on fluid so im guessing its that one.
If you are actually losing fluid between the transmission and the transfer case, you need to remove the transfer case and replace both the transmission output seal *and* the transfer case input seal.
hi
yes you have to remove the transfur case .
not sure why the did not use a better seal there as most times it is the trany one that leaks .
i replaced both while i had it out .
seal is easy replacment ,work is getting to it !

k well i have everything undone up and ready to pull the transfer case but it seems to be seized to the back of the tranny. any know a good way to split them? me and my dad tried prying on it, on the right side where there's that little half moon type gap i guess(best way i could think of describing it) and my dads afraid we might break or crack something doing it like that. open to almost anything right now? thanks for any help you guys can give me
