48RE issue????
48RE issue????
Four months ago I got a new transmission from a place that I won't name right now.
I have had an X monitor for the last 8 years or so. With the original 48re I would run 155 to 170 degrees, not hauling or towing.
The new transmission runs 180 to 190. It also leaks a lot but I make sure the fluid level is always in range.
Why would a new transmission run significantly higher.

Did you use the same spec TQ converter? Depending on how the converter is set up, would effect how much heat is generated.
I know when I went from stock to a triple disk with a lower stall, mine heats up and gets hotter. But then again I had had a full billet tranny built at the same time so there could be other issues effecting it too.
