48RE Front band adjustment gone wrong?

2006 2500 SLT Quad Cab 5.9L 48RE 93k miles. I have adjusted the rear band just fine. When I proceeded with the front band(driver side, exterior) after loosening the lock nut I started to torque the adjusting screw but it didn't get tight at all, instead it went all the way in the housing until I've decided to stop and bring it back the way it was, before losing it inside. After a very short test drive I found that I can't put the truck in reverse or park, anymore and I had to shut it off in neutral and disconnect the batteries. Key is still in the ignition. I still have DTC P1755 and is shifting in the second gear only after it reaches 2500RPM. By the way, I think is better to adjust the front band first, or at least if you do the rear, don't put the pan back on yet before you finish the front. Any ideas or past similar experience with the front band? Thank you.

if the screw is in that far its possible the band is broke at the anchor/ strut bar fell out/band is wore out.... you need to pull the pan to have a look see

Is it difficult to change the front band? I'll open the the pan again this weekend and look to see what went wrong.

Mine did the same thing about two weeks ago. I tried adjusting the band but the screw kept going in. I backed it off where i thought it should be but it didn't help anything. Only made transmission worse. Turned out that the portion of the band that the set screw pushes on to tighten the band had broken off and fallen onto top of valve body. Transmission guy told me it was not uncommon.

I took the valve body off and I found the strut on top of it. The band was/is in great shape with plenty of lining to go. I torqued the front and rear bands and put everything back together. I can shift thru all the gears now but I'm still dealing with DTC P1755, with high rpm up to 2500 when it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. I've spent a lot of time online trying to pinpoint the cause for this code and I've changed the ttva, solenoid and sensor already but it doesn't go away. Still looking....
