Question 4" Turbo elbow clamps the same size???

I just got a 4" in/out turbo elbow that I will be putting on my truck. It did not come with clamps so I bought a used one for the second side since I already have one that is on my truck now. Well, I would really have to stretch this thing to make it fit on the downpipe side and I'm wondering if there are two different sized clamps for this thing??? The clamp I got fits easily on the turbo side. I have been told that they are the same part number hence the same exact clamp. I don't want to bend this thing out and render it useless until I know for sure if I should do that.........

Yup, been there...

Turbo to elbow - clamp is the same for 03/04 and 04.5 and up.

Elbow to down pipe - 04.5 and up clamp IS BIGGER than the 03/04 clamp - they are not the same part #. The 03/04 will NOT fit on the larger 04.5 and up elbow and down pipe as the diameter increase is too significant for the smaller 03/04 clamp to fit around.

Thanks guys. I am aware that the DP clamp is larger. Everything I have read though seems to tell me that that clamp should be the same size as the one that connects the elbows to the turbo. That flange is definitely larger, though, and I'm wanting to know if this 4" clamp I have is supposed to be stretched out so it fits or if I need a completely different size clamp. So many of you have done this. Surely someone can answer this question without a doubt.......

From what I remember when I did mine the elbow to turbo was more of a U shape band clamp and the elbow to downpipe was more of a V shape. And no they were not interchange able. So i would say they should be different part numbers. I ended up buying a 5" v-band clamp.

I used my same clamp to hold the elbow to the turbo. The only clamp I had to buy is the one for the downpipe.

Well, I thought my first post made sense....but perhaps not! Anyway, I think I understand your question better...

The turbine housing to elbow clamps are EXACTLY the same for the 03/04 and 04.5 and up applications. And yes, I can speak from first hand experience as I put an 04.5 and up 4" Pacbrake and down pipe on my 03 Turbo.

IIRC, the turbo to elbow clamp is a different profile shape in the band area from the elbow to down pipe clamp so you cannot properly interchange the two. I think the turbo to elbow band has a square profile and the elbow to down pipe band has a triangular profile - I don't think they were meant to be interchangeable and are likely a different size in additon to the bands being a different shape. I would not suggest that you attempt to interchange them....I think the correct clamp was only about $15 from the dealer.

OK. So yes. Now you are grasping the question properly. Maybe it was my wording...
I will going by the dealership in a couple hours to see if I can get the correct clamp.

Thanks for the help. So, who needs an extra 4" clamp????

Well, maybe it's something in the water around here but the guy at the dealership was giving me a break and the clamp was still gonna cost me $69.00 plus tax. He said Dodge must be really proud of that thing because list price is around $89.00!!!!!

I'll be checking with the local truck supply instead or I'll be waiting until I can find a used one. I'm in no big hurry......

Airflow Online has them for $29.00 plus shipping. Hmmm, I do need some tubing to fab up another torque tube.........

WHAT!! Is that for the downpipe clamp? My clamp was $19 and the elbow was $62. I wonder if he looked up the wrong part number.

Here are the part numbers from one of my previous post:

elbow for the 4.5-05 years 5161570AA
4" downpipe for the 04.5-05 52121600AA
Clamp for the above 52121285AA
