2wd two wheel drive upper ball joints, replaceable?

i started some college, and the old Dodge got the wobbles.

took her in alignment

both lower ball joints & inner tie rod ends.

been reading on here about how much time it takes, so got them to cut the price down some, and let them do it.

do they need to do uppers while they are in there?

service writer said the uppers are part of the upper control arm?

all the dang posts on here, are for 4wd...

What did that cost? my Service writer acted like it was a fortune, and not worth doing?

I think that the uppers and lowers were $295 and I paid a local mech for the install.IIFC it was @$500 total...parts and labor.
