315/70/17 tires without leveling kit?

Have a few miles left in my stockers but starting to take a look at whats going to be available to me. It is an 06 quad cab 4x4. Looking for some aggressive tread tires without having to lift and still be able to tow my fifth wheel. Jim

Yep, they fit with plenty of room to spare on stock rims.

I'm had the NITTO Terra Grapplers 305/75/18's(I think that's what size they were) before I added my lift and new tires and I never had any problems. You should have plenty of clearance with the stock setup.

So I can put on 315's without a leveling kit? On stock rims? They look great but don't want the hassle of suspension issues. Thanks, Jim

315s on stock rims may rub the control arm on full lock (a minor thing). A leveling kit does not help you here. 315s on H2 rims fit perfectly, no rub, and is probably the largest you can go without mods. Lots of info here on the forum, search for H2. I think 305s are the largest you can go on stock rims without any rubbing.

I can deal with a little rubbing as I like the looks better with the 315's. Have to wonder how the fifth wheel affects the suspension. Looks like a ton of room to me.

I have the 2" coil spacers and run the larger tires, without any problems. I have a very, very small rub on the control arm.

Here are BFG AT KO tires in the LT315 size, on the stock 17" rims:

d45, great looking truck. Where did you get the spacers? Does the truck ride worse? Sway? Tires look like they were made for the truck not like the little ones I have on. Thanks, Jim

Any normal ole 2" steel coil spacers will work.

Ebay has a good selection, as well as any 4x4 online shop.

Truck rides the same, no difference.

What would we need to do to get the speedometer and odometer correct if we changed the tire size from stock?

They can only go up to a 285 on the 06+.

A Smarty will go higher though!
