Is 28MPG possible on a CR?
I thought Diesel Power Mag got something like that in a test they did. Folded in the mirrors, taped up everything, put a push rod under the go pedal to prevent and crazy driving. Its possible, but you might look like an idiot doing it.
Lots of claims, but the ones that actually track their mileage all the time don't claim anything exceptional, around 19 is tipical for the good ones.
I've gotten 21mpg pulling a 44ft Goose Neck. East out of Denver with a 45mph tail wind.

Assuming CR means country road I would say no, 28m/g is not poss. However if CR means Cross the Reservation and your talking SW to NE on a DHAM (day of High Air Movement)...
If your talking Crotch Rocket then it may be poss if you broke your R wrist and its in a JID (joint Immobilization Device)
I apologize. I am being a but because I don't "git" all the abreviations on this site. Makes for slow reading.

My overhead reads 19.5 around town with 35x12.50 MTs and im a DRW We know this is bogus but my spedo is not calculated anyone know how to calculate milage if your odometer isnt acurat is there a formula???
With certain driving techniques getting this kind of mileage would be possible. Long ago, there was something called the "Mobil Gas Economy Run." Specially trained drivers took vehicles from each manufacturer on a cross country trip and recorded the mileage. The results were used in advertising. These guys got incredible mileage that was often more than twice what people driving normally got with the same vehicles. They had special gearing, kept their speeds low, did a lot of coasting, picked routes and driving hours that avoided congestion. So 28 mpg is possible with special circumstances, and if fuel prices keep going up, I might be trying some of these techniques myself!
CR is common rail for those that dont know.
I consistantly get 27 mpg from Houston to Houma, LA driving 63mph. I think with a bed cover and a little less weight like removing my huge grill gaurd and 1/2" steel plate goose neck in the bed I could get 28-29 at 63mph.
In a CR reg cab 2x4 with a 6 speed and the highest gears offered, and bed cover, and grill cover like they use up north it would be very possible to get 28mpg, but thats driving 60-63mph. So it may be slow and not much fun but it is possible.
