2006 Cummins
38k miles on my 06. No major issues. Had the leaky hose under the manifold too. no biggie.
The outter window seals started to warp begining of last summer. Other then looking like
no problems....
I love my 06.

Ball joints can be a problem, but I don't think that is limited to only 06 trucks.
Recirc doors are a known to break.
Back glass and/or third brake lights are known to leak.
I've got 84K miles on mine, and the front pinion seal is leaking.
But, not one issue with the Cummins itself.

I have 40k on my '06 (bought w/33k and $24k OTD). I'm not certain what long beds go for compared to the SBQC but the price they want seems a bit high.
My truck has been great w/o issues aside from the coolant hose leak atop the radiator...knock on wood

That the darn dealership won't fix for some reason at least around here.
I've had two 06's, My current Mega has 53k on it and 0 issues. Besides the seats suck and my blend door is not working right. other than that awesome truck and I plan on keeping it untill the wheels fall of.

Blend door and 2 front u-joints, all under warranty. Beside those two things, which I consider minor compared to other brands, zero issues. I'm currently @ 47K.
I also have no plans to ever get rid of my '06.

Yeah they're trying to rip you off.
I bought my '06 in late August '08 with 27k miles on it for $26k. It's a bare bones SLT (single disc, no Infiniti, no fog lights, no pedal adjust switch) and has been fantastic.
It did have the blend/recirc door issue, but that was covered by warranty and an irate phone call from Iraq (had to tell the dealer the problem because all they wanted to check was if the fan was moving air).

I bought my 06 with 54K on it in august 07 and now have 95K on it. I do know that the PO had an injector replaced and I had a ball joint put on a year ago and now I am gona replace the little hose behind the turbo. I love this truck other than the crapy factory auto tranie. It has no isues I just dont like it. The PO was traveling at the time he traded it. He was from Wyoming and decided instead of waiting for them to replace the injector he just traded trucks and continued on down the road. $32K for an 06 seems real high regardles of the low miles. I got hosed to on this truck but oh well. I paid $36K for a fully loaded Laramie MC 3500 SRW in 07 and 6 months latter I was seeing the same truck for 6-8K less.
I purchased my 06 3500 Megacab Laramie back in July from a friend for 27K. It had 77K on the clock but I know how it has been maintained. I don't think I would have spent more than 25K if I was not aware it it's history and maintenance records. It's been a great truck and I now have 92K on it.
Hey guys,
I am looking at a 2006 quadcab longbed with only 26,000 miles on it!!!!!! Are there any real issues with this year truck?? Engine or transmisson problems??? I use to have a 96 12 valve and sold that to buy my current truck which is a 2006 Ford F350 Pstroke
what a mistake that was, after blown headgaskets and some other issues im ready to go back to a Cummins!! I just want to know if these trucks have any common problems that i should be aware of or look out for before buying! Thanks in advance for all responses!

I paid too much but it had what I wanted. 30K
5th wheel hitch, (1500.00 option) SLT Sport interior, Brush guard with PIAA lights,
4 X 4, k & N cold Induction, Cat deleted , Silverline muffler. Bedliner,
Satalite Radio, etc. Very clean in and out.
Very happy with the truck..
I have spent way too much time researching all the maintenance issues as this is my first Diesel. I have several MS Word files with lots of good stuff re maintenance which I can forward in an email if you like.
The only issue that has not been mentioned is a blue clip on the # 4 injection line. Apparently they come loose and have to be tightened up before they wear a hole in the line. No major issues with the 24V 5.9 that I have heard of. Use a fuel additive for the injection pumps etc.

What exactly is this blend door issue you guys are talking about?? The truck is the fully loaded laramie and i have gotten them down to 30k which is a little less but not as cheap as i would like!
