The seats can be kind of tough, I think the seats in my 04 were slightly more comfortable. The gas pedal on the electronically controlled throttle of the HO engines is way to vertical to be comfortable, but I already fixed that myself. I wouldn't think twice about buying another 06 though, I love it.

Cheap cloth seats, HVAC issues, bearing and ball joint issues. All the standard stuff really.

Personally, I LOVE my 2006. Best vehicle I've ever owned, and better than anything I've ever tested. The previous owner took real good care of the truck, and the dealer selling it didn't know how good the truck was they were selling to me.

I would have regretted not getting leather, I love these seats. I wish my stereo had steering wheel controls. I wish I had a sun roof. I wish I had a power sliding rear window, although I do have the wiring so I'll be adding that in the future. Finally, I really REALLY wish I had a full center console, and not the flip up one.

i love mine, but the cloth seats do stain both come right out with some cleaner. another problem is that my actuator went out, it let the doors lock and unlock and my driving side 12v plug in doesn't work.

Yep, I love mine as well. Only issue I have had is the HVAC blend door breaking. As for the ball joints, if you keep the suspension stock, stick with the stock tires, no lift kit, and they will typically last over 100k miles. I have 64k miles on mine now.

I love my 2006, absolutely GREAT truck. I put on sheepskin seat covers, so my seats are like new. Had the blend door issue, fixed under warranty. I had the rear axle seal go, another warranty fix. Other than that, 38K miles of nothing but GREAT driving and towing. I would have liked a center console, could still get one out of a 1500 MegaCab that would fit perfectly. Can do without a sunroof or rear slider, in fact, would rather not have them.

I'd buy another 2006 in a minute.

60K miles and zero problems. Absolutly love the truck. Always gets between 18.5 and 22 MPG (city/HW). Only complaint; it doesn't have nearly the traction in snow and mud as my previous '96 1500 gaser w/4x4 and Dana - I don't like the AME axle!

2006 CTD 4x4, QC, Auto, 3.73. AT2's, All Stock (except Cool-blue Hose, TAG), Inferno-red, Laramie w/everything.

I'll pretty much echo the sentiments already expressed by others....but as with any second hand truck, there's no guarantee in how the previous owner treated it, unless you're buying from someone you know.

Good luck!

Same here. Love mine. Never had any problems yet. 47k. I am really easy on my truck, so maybe that is why I have had no problems. Very comfortable leather seats.

135 K miles and love mine. Best truck I have ever owned. Broke one fuel tube to #3 cylinder, other than that nada zip.
First set of tires 88K,
Brakes at 125K.

steering box leaked, coolant leak where the lines head through your fire wall behind turbo, look for a small black hose about 3 or 4 inches long it was over sized and poorly clamped. Both fixed under warranty.

Keep your injectors clean.
