Hey, I have an early 2005, 600 Ft/lb CTD. I've been noticing smoke at idle in the mirror when sitting at a light. It's real light (smoke) and I only see it when a car is behind me with it's headlights on. I'm a heavy duty diesel mechanic not real familiar with the Cummins B series, more with Detriot Diesel. It just does not seem right to me, the smoke appears to be white/blue, it runs fine, sounds normal, it's not dilluting the engine oil with fuel or anything. I'm just curious as to anyone else noticing something like this. Thanks.

 

mines doing the same thing i changed out the lift pump and its still doing it
looks like is going to be the injectors.....i posted about this a few times..."still white smoke"

 

My 05 does the same thing and my old 01.5 use to do it to. I think it is just a normal diesel thing you just don't see it during the day.

 

I think you see it more in colder weather.
