I'm having an issue with my door locks, it just started the other day. When i unlock my truck (2004 4 door 3500) the drivers side back door will not lock or unlock with the remote or if i use the lock/unlock on the door. Has anyone else run into this issue? if so doe anyone have a fix for it?

my drivers side rear door does the same thing. turns out the wiring broke in the door hinge. common problem i am told and i havent found a fix for it besides replace the door harness. i don't want to do that. (pricey)

 

The wires get pinched and broken in the door jam, it's pretty common.

Just splice them together with some butt splices. I've done it a few times to other peoples trucks, never had a problem. I put the stock wire loom back on after I got done.

 

i was worried about the extra room that would take up. guess it's worth a shot.

 

I just taped it up nice and tight and put the wire loom back over it.
