2004.5 front differential lube change

I want to change lube in my 9.25 front differential and find no drain plug. Do I have to remove the cover to drain?

Yes, and wipe and reuse the rubber gasket. Careful with torquing the bolts when you reinstall, as some on here have had issues with snapping bolts.
