I've been having a problemlately with my 03 dually diesel. After driving for a a couple hours on the highway and slowing down to a stop this is what i hear: Starting off (i have a manual) i hear a clacking noise which i think is an injector. It doesn't always do this but enough to get my attention. I took it to the dealership and they drove it down the highway with the scanner on and said noting was wrong. Of course it wasn't making the noise then. Now it is idleing rough with a noticeable vibration. The rpms seem steady. I've changed the fuel filter and engine oil and ran a couple bottles of sea foam thru the last tank. I got the following c-codes:

23 11

23 12

23 17

Everytime I checked it the second number was different. What i thinkis the injector knocking or clacking noise seems to appear after running the truck on the highway for a long time and is only noticeable when I leve from a stop.
I have 69,000 miles on the truck.

Ayone ever had issues like this?

 

believe you hit the nail on the head with injector issue. you need to see if they can do a flow test on them. you should be under warranty but they mite not honor it due to your mods. have you disconnected the edge to see what it does then

 

yeah i took off the edge a long time ago. I've taken it in once and they won't do anything because nothing showed up on their scanner.

 

You might try adding some out board motor to your fuel tank. You can get it at wal-mart make shore it is TWC-3 witch is ash free. It has helped my 03. There is other post about this.It helps out the 15 part per million fuel the 500 part fuel had more lub to it. If you try it the mix is 1oz per gal.
