Heres some backgroud on my truck, i bought a 2003 cummins with 300,000 miles on it the previous owner had put several turbos on the truck due to fuel dilution in the oil and never figured out that his injectors were bad until the last turbo he installed at which point he installed new injectors. That was around 270000 miles. Well it happened again at 300k miles and again a new turbo and new injectors went in to the truck. I drove it for 36000 miles after he fixed it again and the same thing happened. So i ordered everything to replace the entire fuel system after the factory fuel filter including a gdp 2 micron filter kit. I just finished installing everything and started the truck, it ran beautiful for a few minutes and then i shut it off, checked for leaks and then started it to test drive it, i drove it for about 800 feet and it died. Very hard to start after it died, checked for loose lines or anywhere it could be sucking air found nothing. Will continue to start hard then die, i tried 2 different fca's, no change. Was running fine (with the exception of injectors hanging and blown turbo) before work was started. I checked all remaining electrical connections and grounds that may have been disturbed during all the replacement of components all checked out fine. What could it be? I am stumped! Does the computer need to be reflashed? I did pull a couple of codes after the first time it died, one was for fan speed and the other was p2509. The p2509 only recurred once before cleaning and re tightening the fender ground on the drivers side. I am at a loss.

 

Is the lift pump working? Did you replace the CP3? Did you replace the crossover tubes in the head that connect to the injectors?
