I put in 32oz on my last fill up, and I picked up almost 2 mpg. I'm not sure if it is to much, but I'm please with the results. I didn't put any on this tank because I could find any and I needed fuel a.s.a.p.

I run 14-16 oz per fill-up of at lease 25 gallons, if I know that less is going in the tank them no oil goes in. I need to pull the injectors one of these days and see if there is excess carbon build-up on the tips, I have heard that the oil causes carbon build-up, not sure yet though.

I use 16oz per tank, and I IIRC if you use the tcw-3 ashless it does not create a carbon build up.

Please don't take this as offensive or me trying to say you're lying, but can you explain how you measured your fuel economy? I didnt see a lick of difference when I tried 2 cycle oil. Of course, I didnt see a lick of difference with my Smarty either, and I've seen lots of folks reporting better mileage. 2 MPG is a HUGE increase (13% increase if you're starting with a baseline of 16 MPG).

Again, I'm not trying to be a non-believer, I'm just astounded that 32oz of oil can increase economy by 13% and would love to find out that mileage really can increase like that.

Honkylips, I didnt notice any difference with the addition of my edge or the exhaust or the intake, the truck got the same mileage no matter what I did. I run lucas in every single tank since I bought the truck new and I read a thread on here about better fuel mileage with the 2 cycle, so I tried it. My truck got a average of 19 mpg from the day it left the dodge house. With one full tank, 35 gal. I ran 32 oz. of 2 cycle, and got 21.2 mpg, and I did that for 3 tanks. I am now on the 4th and will see how things are going. I always fill up at the same filling station and do not exceed 65 on the highway, unless I'm provoked!! And for what it's worth, I ran the Lucas with the 2 cycle, and did it off of mileage, not the overhead console.

You can but your already getting all the lubricity you need. Test done recently showed 2-cycle not as helpful in that department as originally thought. Best lubricity additive was running 2% biodiesel.

That's like $19.96 per gallon.

It only adds 5.40 w/ tax to a tank of fuel. Fuel here is 3.25 a gallon. Not even close to 19.96 a gallon. That makes a gallon of fuel 3.40, and around 119.00 for the fill up of 35 gallons

edit: oh, I get it, for the oil..... I'm dumb.

Just saying there's less expensive 2 stroke oil out there.

Going with worldmart tcw-3 ashless is probably as cheap as it can be found for IMO. I run 1oz. per gallon of diesel for 5 or 6 tanks then run Stanadyne for a cleaner just to make myself feel good about a cleaner. Mopar1973Man has done thousands of miles of tcw-3 testing on his rig with no ill effects. Some guys will see some mileage increase some will not. The main goal for the 2 stroke is an inexpensive fuelsystem lubricant to add lubricity back into the new ulsd.
