1000 miles from home...
A 1000 miles from home and I hear the dreaded *squeek squeek squeek* when starting out. It sounds like a bad u-joint. I took it in to a dealer and all parts are in toronto.... Three days away. There are thirteen on back order in town and I was planning on leaving Winnipeg on Friday (tomorrow) to head back west.
Dodge, You let me down. I don't mind the parts failure so much, crap like this happens with anything mechanical. It is the parts supply network that has my panties in a twist. At ~$200~ I don't really feel like running out and buying my own.
Maybe the dealer will come up with some "miracle cure" However if it is anything like his first suggestion to drop the rear drive shaft and drive it 1000 miles back home on the front......

The local parts store found one in stock for $49 something dollars about the same time the dealer was able to source one north of Winnipeg. I do have to say though, I think I landed at a good dealer, I feel they have busted a gut to try and get me back rolling again. They figure it should be done before 5:00 tomorrow.
I'll post a name once I get it back.

I had a 2000 Ram 1/2 ton, and the tranny went out in Maryland (I live in Illinois). It took THREE WEEKS to get a reman tranny...so I had to fly my family home and fly back to pick up the truck 3 weeks later. Very Inconvienent, to say the least.
My expenses we a little over $1200. I called DC, and complained, and they initially informed me that the warranty covers repairs, but not other expenses....which is absolutely true. Then they offered to split the cost of the flights, and wrote me a check for $600...plus, the dealer did a great job of fixing my truck.
Things break, but I thought this was great service....I am on my 8th DC product and I love my new Ram Cummins...

This might make you feel a little better, My buddy has a 03 Duramax, and at about 25000 miles the injectors took a crap, it ran bad, and after 2 days it did not run at all, and had to be towed. Now get this, the dealer told him it would be 1 MONTH, as the injectors are on back order. Needless to say he went ape on them, called every day twice a day,and after a week and a half they came up with some. Oh bye the way this is his 3500 DRW self employed work truck he pulls a goose neck trailer with, no rentels available for this kind of work, He was SOL!(He will buy a Cummins when this trucks lease is up).So its not only DC with parts problems.
I have heard a lot of horror stories about DC dealerships and the company with warranty issues, etc. I believe that most dealers and DC customer service want to do the right thing, but there are usually underlying circumstances that we done hear about...
Like, I had a friend who bought a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 brand new...put a Holley 3barrel racing carburetor, headers, racing gears and other "stuff" in it. When he blew the engine while racing a GTO, the dealer denied the warranty work because of all the add ons...he still complains about GM and there lack of warranty support...has only owned Fords since. I never believed it was a GM warranty issue....
