How cold is it? Fuel jelling? Do you have gauges/what is the fuel pressure?

Check your oil level, see if it smells like diesel.

Really think it's an injector, anyone ever dealt with cummins having any mercy on a truck that just broke 100 k. Warranty wise

About a year I noticed my truck as idling funny. It had a different than "normal" vibration to it. I don't know how to explain it but the truck shook at idle and just didn't feel right; it drove fine on the highway and didn't throw any codes or anything. I took it in and turned out to be a bad injector. It was under warranty at the time with under 36,000. Good Luck!!!

Certainly sounds like an injector.

Grey smoke is fuel and at idle that is most likely a bad spray pattern sticky delivery valve in the tip or air in the system.

Since the fuel filter is under pressure there should be no air. Try a gallon (or what ever the correct mix is) of Power Service adative.

There is a Tractor Supply store in Sevierville on 441. They will have it. Also there is a Walmart between Pigeon forge and Sevierville.

One other thing. Don't idle it as it could wash a cylinder and cause ring problems. Probably will be fine on the open road with some rpm and load you might not even notice it on the hwy.

Did you check that wire that runs under the oil filter? Lots of threads on this subject. Apparently it can rub itself raw against a bolt and then you get intermittent arching resulting in a miss and smorke. I havent't had this problem but what you describe sounds similar to what happens. Believe this wire runs with part of the AC circut.
