'06 cranks long?

Just bought an 06 3500 with a 6spd, sometimes it cranks for 30-45 second before it will start. Owner said he took it to dodge and the flashed something on the computer and it stopped doing it for a while now its back. any help? thanks

do a search- there are dozens of threads about this. one or more leaking injectors, and/or a bad pressure relief valve are 2 good places to start.

First off, DO NOT crank it for that long. When mine gets hard to start I just do short bursts on the starter, a second or two at a time with a slight pause between. It will usually hit on the second attempt, if not always on the third. There were several flashes to fix the long crank issue. You may not have the latest revision which from all accounts works. If the flash doesn't fix it or you have the latest then the problem will most likely be injector related. Are you still under warranty? If so let the dealer fix it. If they have to do injectors the latest revision of injector is better than the original. Good luck and let us know what you find.

my '04 has a mind of its own as far as starting is concerned... sometimes it hits instantly, sometimes it's extended

new FCA, capped rail, injectors are F1's with about 12k miles on them.

oh well
